Navajo Nation veterans, served in the U.S. Army during World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm. Most recently in Operation Enduring Freedom. Both men and women answered the call to duty over the past 70 years, served in the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, U.S. Marines, and Air Force.
In World War II their service as code breakers in the Pacific theater. Contributed to protecting Allied forces troop movements and operations from the Japanese forces.
Navajo Nation veterans distinguished themselves serving in Ranger units known as Long Range Recon Unit’a or LURP’s during the Vietnam war.
